Chuckie Watch 12: Chuckie vs. "The Jews" (Pt. 1 of 3)

The Chuckie Watch will have to be in three parts today. Country singer and Regnery Press scribe Chuckie (CHARLIE DANIELS) is so deep in the Dark Side in his latest that the AOL Journal 2500-word limit won't be enough to gag over it. First, some references:

This is Chuckie's latest, "Passion." The title refers to Mel Gibson's controversial new film about Jesus, which reportedly gives heavy emphasis to the role of "the Jews" in the death of Jesus.

In previous installments of the Chuckie Watch, I've talked about how Chuckie claims to be overflowing with Christian love and compassion for everyone's eternal souls. And we've looked at how Chuckie applies his understanding of God to Muslims. We've seen how he expresses his Christian concern for immigrants and single mothers. And this one mentions several groups onto which his Christian compassion overflows.

In another post, I've talked about the Christian Right enthusiasm for hardline military policies by Israel and how they base it on a weird, violent and fundamentally anti-Semitic reading of the Bible.

Just for good measure, let's also keep in mind some of the ways in which Christian Right leaders like Pat Robertson express the Savior's love and their American patriotism.

Chuckie is just wallowing in the Dark Side in his hate screed, "Passion." Mel Gibson's film is still unreleased, though selected audiences have been allowed to see it. A great deal of criticism of the film focuses on whether it promotes anti-Semitism.

The Swiss Protestant theologian Karl Barth was the first major Christian theologian to insist that the Holocaust was a central religious problem for Christians.
