Holy nutcase oracles, Batman!

How I've lived all these years since accessing the Internet without knowing this, I don't know.

But Hal Lindsey, author of The Late Great Planet Earth and similar works of, uh, Biblical scholarship, has his own Web page! Plus, his own columnist's page at WorldNutDaily.

Lindsey is the best known popular guru of rightwing Christian fundamentalist acocalypticism. (Try saying that phrase three times fast.) His schtick is to combine very fanciful interpretations of Biblical prophecy - in which we are privileged to be witnessing the End Times, of course - with rightwing, militaristic political stands.

If this column is any judge (Friendly [sic] Advice to Peaceful Muslims 07/21/05), his writing on regular mundate issues of real politics while we wait for the Second Coming with all its attendant drama is barely on the "middle-brow" side of, say, a blowhard white guy like CHARLIE DANIELS (aka, Chuckie) - country music has-been, Regnery Press political analyst and Republican war fan.
