This is a YouTube video of Australian country singer/songwriter Kasey Chambers singing one of her most popular songs, "Am I Not Pretty Enough". The chorus has a line that says "Why do you see right through me?" I understand in that in the Australian variant of English, that means what we mean in America by "Why do you look right through me?"
And this is a very funny self-parody she did for an Australian comedy show, "Am I Not Nasel Enough". It's a parody of the song above. But it's also funny in light of all the people who gripe that country music is too "nasal" or "twangy". (By the way, those tend to be the same kind of culture-hating people who actually believe all the vicious tabloid fiction-writing about poor Britney Spears!)
This song, "I Still Pray" is one written by Paul Kelly, a great singer/songwriter who also sings with her on the song. Kelly is tremendously popular in Australia, though his name is virtually unknown in the US, though it's very possible you've heard one of his songs. Kasey's voice is perfect for a number of his songs. (One of the sexiest pop songs I know of is Kelly Willis' cover of Paul Kelly's "Cradle of Love". ) Kasey grew up Seventh-Day Adventist, in case the video makes you wonder.
