How MoDo sees the world
Maureen Dowd, short version: Bill Safire died and that makes me think of Monica Lewinsky and the Starr Report.
How is it that so many people believe patently false and even insane things that come from the mouths and keypads of "Limbaugh, Beck, Coulter and Malkin" who she describes in that column as "today's howling pack of conservative pundits"?
A big reason is because a major "quality" paper like the New York Times lets Maureen Dowd write nonsense like her column today and then just pretend that she's some kind of serious political columnist.
Bob "the Daily Howler" Somerby says of Monica and our celebrity press, they can't stop loving her. And MoDo sure can't. MoDo worked her into her previous column as well.
Oh, the future of American health care was up for important votes in the Senate Finance Committee today. But top celebrity political columnist Dowd was too busy recalling the joys of reading the Starr Report to bother with nonsense like that.
