Friedman is one of the most influential columnists in the country and is considered a Very Serious commentator on foreign affairs by the Beltway Village. Being conventionally wrong about something as important as the Iraq War is a badge of credibility in the Village. This video of Friedman being interviewed by Charlie Rose on on 05/30/03 during the early weeks of the war is a reminder of what is considered Serious Foreign Policy Commentary by our press today:
