When the local Shurff swears he'll break the law, I'm thinking the auditors might want to start looking closely at his financial accounts.
This is from the conservative site Breitbart.com whose credibility as a news provider is basically zero. But they are quoting this guy who they approve of here. He's here preaching straight-up sedition - his phrasing sounds like the extremist Oath Keepers group - and the supposed conservatives at Breitbart.com praise him, saying he "represents everything good and brave about America, and about the great state of Kentucky. He is a patriot, first class."
What if one of them thar Muslim turrists bring some dynamite, bazookas and IEDs into his county? Is the Shurff going to defend them against the feds? This is the kind of guy who may show up at the mall one day and start shooting people.
Or, more likely, run off with half the county treasury.
