US and war in Africa

Will Bunch notices a Wall Street Journal headline announcing, "U.S. Boosts War Role in Africa." And he asks, "Hey, remember that time we declared war on Africa?" Attytood 03/04/2013. To which he answers, "Me neither."

His conclusion is a good one:

The entire "war on terror" has been the worse case of "mission creep" in the history of civilization. We drift from Iraq to Yemen to Mali and elsewhere in Africa -- on what basis? It's time for Congress to repeal the vague and never-ending Authorization for Use of Military Force, which was enacted under Pearl-Harbor-day-of-infamy conditions on Sept. 14, 2001, but is way past its expiration date. When it comes to this stuff, I giess [sic] I'm just a small government guy.
